The 2011 vintage is widely regarded as one of the greatest vintages ever produced in the Douro.

Growing season highlights: Excellent winter rainfall, Balanced spring conditions, Warm, dry summer, Perfect ripening conditions.

The result was grapes with exceptional concentration, structure, freshness and ageing potential.

Serving Recommendations: Serving temperature: 16–18°C. Decanting: 1–2 hours recommended. Glassware: Large Bordeaux-style glass

Wine Tasting: Deep opaque ruby colour, Almost black core, Exceptional colour concentration. Even after more than a decade, the wine retains remarkable depth and vitality.

Complex and layered bouquet featuring: FRUIT - Blackberry, Black cherry, Cassis, Black plum. Floral Notes - Violet, Wild flowers. Spice & Oak - Clove, Black pepper, Cedar, Vanilla. Mature Notes - Graphite, Tobacco leaf, Truffle, Forest floor, Dark chocolate. Palate - Full-bodied and highly structured. Characteristics include: Rich concentration, Powerful yet polished tannins, Excellent balance, Fresh acidity, Great depth and precision, Remarkably long finish. The wine combines power and elegance, a hallmark of the finest Douro reds.

Over time, primary fruit aromas gradually evolve into: cigar box, leather, truffle, dried herbs, cedar while maintaining structure and freshness.
