Estremus 2011 is a premium, limited-production red wine from Alentejo, Portugal. It offers intense aromas of black fruits, cassis, oak and spice, supported by silky tannins, excellent structure and remarkable ageing potential. Elegant, complex and highly collectible. Estremus 2011 is one of the flagship wines from João Portugal Ramos, produced in the Alentejo wine region. Crafted only in exceptional vintages, it is a limited-production wine designed to express elegance, concentration, and ageing potential.

The 2011 vintage received:

  • 94 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
  • Recognition as one of the top wines from Alentejo and Portugal.

Tasting Notes: Deep and intense aromas of cassis, blackberry, ripe black fruits, subtle oak influence, tertiary notes from ageing. On the palate: full-bodied, rich and structured, silky tannins, balanced acidity, long and elegant finish. Wine critics have described the 2011 vintage as showing truffle, forest floor, black cherry, and exceptionally refined tannins with remarkable elegance.

Ageing Potential: Excellent ageing potential.
The 2011 vintage is considered capable of evolving for many years, developing greater complexity, earthy notes, and tertiary aromas over time.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with roasted lamb, beef and ribeye steak, game meats, mushrooms, truffle dishes and aged cheeses.

Winemaking: The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented in traditional marble lagares with foot treading. After fermentation and extended maceration, the wine was aged in French oak barrels, contributing complexity and refinement.
